2025 California Cannabis Award Winners Announced
Big winners of gold, silver and bronze medals include Emerald Spirit Botanicals with 7 and Alpenglow with 6. Next up? The Golden Bear Awards on July 12.
The winners of the 2025 California Cannabis Awards have just been announced. While you can find the complete list of winners in a total of 48 categories at the link above — or over at the Budist website (where they’re in a slightly more readable format), I thought I’d take a hot second to highlight (see what I did there?) the flower categories since those medals were awarded solely on the numbers — highest cannabinoid and terpene content — as determined by SC Labs. (The Budist judges’ input in these categories will come into play when the Golden Bear “best in class” winners are chosen from among the medalists and announced at the California State Fair next month.)
Worth calling to your attention are two brands in that had a particularly strong showing; Emerald Spirit Botanicals (up in Mendocino County just west of Willits), which took home a total of seven medals including the ones below, a gold in the pre-roll category and a silver in the tincture category; and Alpenglow Farms, (located southern Humboldt County) which nabbed a total of six medals. (And it’s always nice to see our friends over at Pure Beauty get their flower flowers. If I’m not mistaken that gold-medal winner in the CBDa category is grown right here in L.A.)
The big winner for Emerald Spirit Botanicals this year is its Pink Boost Goddess high THCv flower which adds another four medals (a gold, two silvers and a bronze) to an already impressive haul of five state fair awards and five Emerald Cup awards.
The Golden Bear Awards will be announced live at the California Cannabis Awards at the California State Fair on July 12, with green carpet arrivals starting at 4:20 p.m. (which totally makes sense) followed by the awards ceremony beginning at 6 p.m.
